Verne Troyer: Ranae Shrider Used to Beat Me
As if this developing story couldn’t get any weirder, Verne Troyer is now suing Ranae Shrider for allegedly beating the hell out of him.
In a lawsuit which will be filed in Federal court soon, Troyer is accusing Shrider of intentional infliction of emotional distress and battery.
Verne’s lawyer, Ed McPherson, tells celebrity news site TMZ, “When you pick up a 2′8″ human being and throw him to the floor, it hurts.”
Well, it’s hard to argue with that.
Others are being sued here as well, including some lawyer who allegedly tried to broker a deal for the sale of the Verne Troyer sex tape.
In the lawsuit, Verne Troyer basically says Ranae Shrider terrorized him.
Once, she even picked the lock to his bedroom door, pushing away a 100 pound scooter that was used to block it, and threw him on the floor. Ouch.
The price of the damages Ranae Shrider did to him? A paltry $20 million. We’ll see if Verne’s lawsuit holds up or if he takes another (legal) beating …
Just a Typical Day in The Hills
The Kress, a four-story Asian-inspired L.A. club, has barely been open one week, but on this night it’s hosting the nightclub equivalent of a meeting with the Pope — that is, a visit from the cast and crew of The Hills.
With stars Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge due to arrive at 8:30 p.m. for their standard girl talk over cocktails, The Hills crew is busy prepping the whole place, reports Entertainment Weekly in its new cover story.
Two seats in the corner are reserved, and a production assistant goes around handing out forms asking bystanders to agree to appear on camera.
If they don’t, The Hills producers will ask them to move, or shoot around them. Most comply easily, unimpressed by the fact that MTV’s highest-rated series will be shooting a scene mere feet from their dinner.
Clearly, they don’t know that Lauren and Audrina are having major tension at home, and this could be, like, a totally important conversation.
Finally, Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge themselves arrive at the hip restaurant and take their seats at the bar. No direction. No rehearsals.
Upstairs, the director and four producers, including creator and executive producer Adam DiVello, huddle around three portable monitors.
Lauren and Audrina segue into a conversation about tomorrow’s barbecue at the house of Lauren’s ex-boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt.
Will it be awkward, Audrina inquires, since Doug recently went on a date with Lauren’s friend Stephanie Pratt (sister of Spencer)?
Regarding the complicated situation with Doug Reinhardt, Lauren admits to her roommate and friend, “Tomorrow, I’m gonna need to drink.”
Catching a shot of Lauren laughing that he thinks will work well for Season Four’s opening credits montage, The Hills editors jot down the time code.
When Audrina and Lauren prepare to depart, the director sends one of the cameras across the street to capture them leaving.
Strolling down the boulevard, LC, who has been living her life on TV for four years and knows how to end a scene, turns to Audrina and smiles.
“Tomorrow,” she says, “is gonna be a crazy, fun day.”
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you make one of the most addictive, hated, beloved, vapid, influential, successful shows on TV.

Ray J, Whitney Houston Still Hittin’ It
Kim Kardashian who? Ray J looked like his romance with Whitney Houston was going strong at West Hollywood nightclub Villa last weekend.
“They sat very close together. She only had eyes for him,” says an insider. “At one point, she placed her hand on his leg.” You go, Ray!
The source adds that Whitney Houston only drank water that night and looked very happy, and that Ray J was very affectionate.
Another friend says that while their odd relationship sometimes appears rocky, the two never stray too far from each other.
“They’re on and off, but it’s never really over between them,” the pal tells In Touch. “They always pick up where they left off.”
One can only hope a second Ray J sex tape is in the works.
Audrina Patridge Debuts New Blog
Aspiring actress and star of The Hills Audrina Patridge has launched a new, official blog, where she’ll be updating regularly about her life.
Her latest entries include some of her favorite tunes of late, as well as a video of her and her sister Casey Patridge sharing some “interesting facts” about themselves. There are also some generic pics of her at home, etc.
To be honest, it’s not a very interesting site. In fact, it sort of sucks, given the vast amount of content Audrina could post if she were so inclined (no dirt on either Tal Cooperman or Justin-Bobby - come on). Total weak sauce.
