The Twilight Saga to Come to an End…
… on 11/16/12.
Get the tissues out, Twilight Saga fans. The franchise has announced its end date.
The second installment of Breaking Dawn will be released on November 16, 2012, almost a year to the day after the first half of the final film hits theaters.
Stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are scheduled to start filming in Louisiana and Vancouver this fall.
While this is emotional news, remember: the books, movies and characters will live on in our hearts forever… and forever… and forever.
Lee Pace Rumored for Key Role in Breaking Dawn
Twilight Saga fans may soon have an older man to drool over.
Multiple reports confirm that Lee Pace is in negotiations to appear in Breaking Dawn as the vampire Garrett, Edward’s BFF.
The character possesses sandy hair that he keeps tied back with a leather thong. In the book, he’s mostly a laid back blood sucker, replete with a relaxed attitude and sense of humor.
“Lee is the top person in the running to play Garrett in Breaking Dawn,” a source told E! News, adding that no production date has been set for the November 2011 film.
Pace is a 31-year old native of Oklahoma best known for his role on the short-lived ABC series Pushing Daisies. It was one of the most unique, witty, funniest shows on television. Hurry up and go buy the DVD!
While most Breaking Dawn fans are still buzzing over the intense skin-on-skin action set for Bella and Edward in that movie, stop for a moment and sound off: Think Pace is right for the role of Garrett?
Breaking Dawn to Feature Skin-on-Skin Action, Horrible Birth Scene
While Eclipse continues to rake in the box office dough, Melissa Rosenberg is already looking ahead to Breaking Dawn.
That movie’s screenwriter spoke to Hollywood Life recently and shared scintillating news with Twilight Saga fans. Simply put, she said: “We want the eroticism of the sex scenes.”
Just how much of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will viewers see? Rosenberg remained coy, but added:
“If you really look at the books, how much are you really seeing? I think [the movies] might wind up being saucier than the book because you’re actually seeing skin-on-skin and the horror of the birth scenes. We’re not shying away from it.”
Meanwhile, it’s already been confirmed that Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies. But where in the story will this take place?
“We’re still debating the exact moment,” Rosernberg said. “But it’ll fall down to the first half of Bella as a human and being pregnant and a newlywed and the second half being Bella as a vampire and a parent. Somewhere in the middle of that, the break will come.”
The first installment of Breaking Dawn will hit theaters on November 18, 2011.
Breaking Dawn Screenwriter Teases “Sensual Sex” Between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
This week’s red carpet premiere may have been in honor of Eclipse, but screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg took the opportunity to give fans a major tease about Breaking Dawn.
A HOT, SEXY major tease, we should say!
Speaking to Hollywood Life, Rosenberg opened up about Bella and Edward’s relationship in the fourth movie. She said:
“I can tell you the sex scenes are going to be sensual and they’re going to be delicious.
They’re going to be everything I would want them to be. They may not be as graphic as some people may want them, but I honestly don’t think graphic translates into hot. I don’t care if it’s PG-13 or R. I just want the hottest sex scene there is and I don’t necessarily think ‘graphic’ is the best way.”

In a word: Gulp!
In nine words: Can Breaking Dawn hurry up and come out already?!?
Robert Pattinson Teases “Totally Hardcore” Breaking Dawn, Edward/Bella Sex Scenes
It’s official: Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies.
But what will those movies be like? In a new interview with a French magazine, Robert Pattinson jokes about making them “totally hardcore” and “having to ban [the film] for people under 16.”
Don’t worry, folks, he’s kidding.
But the actor, seen above and below on the set of Water for Elephants, is serious about how much sexier this final installment of the Twilight Saga is when compared to the first three.
After all - SPOILER ALRERT!!! - Edward and Bella cross a major line in the book. Says Pattinson:
“It’s going to be interesting. The story goes in directions so different and I’m curious what it will turn out like… We get married, sleep together… All the tension from the three previous films is resolved in Breaking Dawn.
“Can you imagine if they decided to go full out and Twilight suddenly became this totally hardcore series for adults with nude scenes?”
We’re guessing all of THG’s female readers could imagine that, yes. Do you ladies need some time alone right now?
Twilight Director Warns: Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene Really Might Get Fired
While Twilight Saga fans are gearing up for Eclipse, their excitement these days is tempered by a disturbing report:
It’s possible neither Kellan Lutz nor Ashley Greene will appear in the second Breaking Dawn movie.
As previously stated, both these stars are holding out for a significant raise if/when the final film in the franchise is broken into two. This is more than a rumor, as Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke doesn’t doubt Summit Entertainment would replace the leads if pressed.
She also blames outside influences for getting Lutz an Greene to this point.
“Ashley and Kellan have agents, managers, lawyers… you get all of these outside influences telling you you should hold out for this much because you’re such an important part of the franchise,” Hardwicke told Us Weekly. “It could turn ugly. Do [these actors] deserve more money? Probably they do, on one level. But if everybody make so much money then… it’s complicated. What a mess!”
A huge mess, indeed.
Fortunately, even if Lutz is out of the franchise, he has a bright, HOT future as an underwear model. See for yourself.
Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz: Out of Breaking Dawn?!?
Numerous reports have confirmed that Summit Entertainment and The Twilight Saga producers will divide Breaking Dawn into two films.
So, why has an official announcement still not been made regarding the final story in this franchise? Because a salary dispute may actually keep two key players from appearing in the final chapter.
No, not Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart. Both of these stars, along with Taylor Lautner, have agreed to anchor both Breaking Dawn installments, with significant raises to show for it.
HOWEVER, neither Kellan Lutz nor Ashley Greene is close to a deal for the second of the two flicks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, each wants a bigger payday ($4 million) than the studio is willing to deliver.
“We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” a source actually said.
Might The Twilight Saga conclude without Kellan Lutz and/or Ashley Greene?!?
Such a drastic move would not be unprecedented, even within the Twilight universe itself:
Following her role as Victoria in Twilight and New Moon, Rachelle Lefevre was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in Eclipse.
Fans were distressed enough about that decision - but there could be an all-out mutiny if anyone in the Cullen clan is replaced with a new actor or actress. What do you think of this development?
Important Dates Announced for Breaking Dawn, Eclipse
As Twilight Saga fans anxiously count down the days until the June 30 nationwide release of Eclipse, we’ve got breaking news on Breaking Dawn:
The final installment of this franchise will hit theaters on November 18, 2011. That’s only 18 and a half months away!
Director Bill Condon agreed to helm Breaking Dawn last week, penning a letter to fans that should comfort us all to know the film is in great hands.

Before we get to the (SPOILER ALERT!) wedding between Bella and Edward, though, there’s the matter of these two, along with Jacob, taking on Victoria and her vampire army in Eclipse.
This movie’s red carpet premiere is confirmed for June 24 at the Nokia Theater as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival. Mark your calendars and try to control your breathing.
Breaking Dawn Director to Fans: Have No Worries!
As the recently-chosen director of Breaking Dawn, Bill Condon has a message for fans: The movie is in good hands!
Seriously, the Oscar winner behind Dreamgirls really does have this message. He posted it on Facebook over the weekend:
Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,
I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I’m stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you’ve probably heard, I’ve been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit – who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.
I’ve read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine’s and Chris’s movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine’s notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz’s companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk – a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for ‘newborn’ status in the universe you’ve been living inside for a few years now, but a guy’s gotta start somewhere.
I’m a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?
Sounds like Condon understands the challenges ahaead of him and recognizes the popularity of the world he has just agreed to take on. Let’s welcome him to the franchise, shall we?
Bill Condon to Direct Breaking Dawn
The Twilight Saga will go out in style.
It’s been confirmed that Dreamgirls director Bill Condon will helm Breaking Dawn, the final film in the franchise, as the Oscar winner signed off on the project today. He said:
“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book - and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”
Breaking Dawn starts production later this year. It will feature, of course, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in the roles that made them famous.
Multiple reports, meanwhile, state that Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies. If this takes place, it’s safe to assume Condon will direct both installments.
