Might Cheryl Cole Go Dancing with the Stars?
While the relationship between Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest is receiving most of the gossip world’s attention, the former’s brother has landed himself a beauty comparable to his sibling.
Derek is dating British bombshell Cheryl Cole.
Due to this connection, insiders say those close to Cole are pushing for her to join Dancing with the Stars in the near future. What better way to raise her American profile?
“Her U.S. team thinks it will be a great move for her and increase her profile stateside,” a source told MTV. “Partnering her with Derek would be a masterstroke and they want her to give it serious thought.”
We’d also like to give serious thought… to Cole naked!
Hough is the reigning Dancing with the Stars champion. He brought the trophy home last season with Nicole Scherzinger.
ABC has not yet announced a premiere date for the next edition of this competition. Would you wanna see Cole on it?
Vienna Girardi to Go Dancing with the Stars?
With one Dancing with the Stars performance under her belt already after Tuesday’s finale, Vienna Girardi wouldn’t mind joining the show’s cast full-time next season.
Her fiance, The Bachelor star Jake Pavelka, competed this season and danced with Vienna to - what else - “On the Wings of Love” in a very special performance.
We’re as nauseous now as we were then, but Vienna Girardi held her own out there, twirling around the floor for viewers and fellow contestants in a short exhibition.
“It was great,” Jake raved. Great? No, but good enough to spark speculation about Vienna joining next season’s cast. “I keep hearing that question,” she said.
“When they asked me to dance, I was a little nervous, but I thought, ‘Why not? Jake had so much fun.’ [I said] I’d love to try it. I dressed like a princess. I loved it.”

“I can’t be selfish. She gave me the time. If it did come down to them asking her,” Jake Pavelka said. “We’ll see where our lives are, and if it makes sense, go for it.”
She’s no Nicole Scherzinger, but she wasn’t bad out there - and if you think ABC wouldn’t resort to such stunt casting, come on. Jake was on it. Why not Vienna?
For now, Vienna’s reveling in her cameo. “We only had a couple of rehearsals and I kept going, ‘I’m not ready for this! I’m going to fall! My knees are going to shake!’”
“But it was a blast.”
Also exciting? Vienna revealed to reporters that she’s already picked out her wedding shoes. The two haven’t set a date yet, “but I found my shoes,” Vienna said.
“[They're] Jimmy Choo and they have crystals all over them. They’re like Cinderella slippers.” Good to know, future Vienna Girardi Pavelka. Very good to know.
Nicole Scherzinger on Dancing with the Stars Victory: This is Beyond the Mirror Ball
During last night’s Dancing With the Stars finale, Nicole Scherzinger and her partner, Derek Hough, earned the unanimous praise of all three of the judges.
Pretty much the same as how fans felt about them all season.
“I’m totally emotional,” Hough said after he and Nicole won the prestigious Mirrorball trophy. “Nicole and I burst out into tears backstage after our tango.”
“We were so overwhelmed with how happy we were with what was going on tonight. Win, lose, draw we were going to be happy. But to win is phenomenal.”
“I’m kind of speechless right now,” confessed Nicole Scherzinger. “I’m going to go into a room and cry. It’s not about the trophy. It’s beyond the trophy.”
Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough kiss the hardware.
“The experience and the challenge and everything you go through - this has been a lot of life-changing experiences in three months. It’s just so intense.”
Meanwhile, there were no hard feelings from talented finalists Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya or Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy - only praise.
“We definitely feel like we haven’t left anything on the table,” Lysacek said. “We all gave it our best shot, but Derek and Nicole were the best from day one.”
“I was a mess when I came here,” said Andrews, the victim of a nude peephole video stalking scandal, said, in tears. “He was exactly what I needed.”
Like Lysacek, Andrews was thrilled to compete in the finale, and humbled by the experience. Adds Lysacek, “I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.”
Kate Gosselin: The Worst Dancer Ever
Last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale saw the coronation of a new champion, and also the return of some memorable cast members who aren’t quite as good.
When it comes to rhythm, Kate Gosselin is the anti-Nicole Scherzinger. While we give her credit for trying, last night’s effort was LOL worthy … especially the end.
The reality TV mom returned to the stage Tuesday after shilling for the revamped Kate Plus 8 and the new Twist of Kate (wonder if TLC paid for that ad) of course.
It was not pretty. The only thing worse than her dancing is her relentless whining in rehearsal - even after she insists she wants to have a better attitude, no less.
But the best part, however unintentionally? The end, in which Kate flew over the stage and stared awkwardly into a fish-eye lens. What was that supposed to be?
Who the heck knows, but it’s worth repeated viewing …
On a side note, by request: Would you hit it?
Who Won Dancing with the Stars?
Ten weeks and a dozen and a half routines later, Season 10 of Dancing With the Stars has finally come to an end. The winner of the coveted Mirrorball trophy was unveiled Tuesday, with three contestants remaining entering the night.
- Would it be Evan Lysacek, limber Olympic figure skating gold medalist, looking to add the famed Mirrorball to burgeoning trophy case?
- Would it be Nicole Scherzinger, the lovely lead Pussycat Doll and lord of the Dancing With the Stars season from beginning to end?
- Would it be Erin Andrews, embattled ESPN reporter turned ballroom aficionado, and a woman who everyone has to be rooting for?
All three made compelling cases this Spring, but there can be only one winner. Follow the jump to see who took home the Dancing with the Stars title …
Dominant most of the season, she and Derek Hough managed to maintain and even build their lead against Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya in their last dance.
They received a perfect 30 for their jive, Len’s claim that Nicole deserved to be the winner of the competition and a hug from Gladys Knight. It was theirs to lose.
Erin finished third, and Evan just fell short in his bid to succeed fellow Olympians Apolo Anton Ohno, Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson as the Mirrorball winner.
Nicole Scherzinger deserved it, though, beyond any doubt.
The odds were in Nicole and Derek’s favor, but there have been seasons when the highest-scoring star hasn’t taken home the top prize, so you never really can tell.
Thanks to Evan, Erin and Nicole, Dancing with the Stars viewers may have been the biggest winners in this 10th season of competition - it was the best season yet.
As for the two hours of filler, we got to see the eliminated contestants make their returns and keep the energy up and moving for their performances throughout.
Well, with the exception of Kate Gosselin, who showed up for a revamped version of her much-maligned “Paparazzi” paso doble and to shill her two new shows.
In a very odd move, Kate got on some kind of lift with a camera on it, and literally rose up above the audience to … somewhere. It was hard to tell. Who cares.
The cheesiest moment of the night went to Jake Pavelka, who waltzed onto the ballroom floor and traded his partner Chelsie for real-life fiancee Vienna Girardi.
If that weren’t enough, the dance was set to Jeffrey Osbourne’s “On the Wings of Love” … the theme of Jake’s season of The Bachelor. You may vomit when ready.
But back to the champions. Let’s salute Nicole and Derek on a job well done, and a trophy well-earned. Click to enlarge some of their best Dancing moments …
Dancing with the Stars: Erin Andrews Ties Nicole Scherzinger, But Who Will Voters Choose?
Might Erin Andrews pull off an incredible Dancing with the Stars upset?
In our finals preview yesterday, we listed her as a long shot against favorite Nicole Scherzinger and dark horse Evan Lysacek, each of whom are more skilled.
Somebody either forgot to tell Erin she was the underdog heading into last night’s final performances, or did tell her and provided her bulletin board material.
Erin Andrews tied Nicole with an aggregate 55, meaning it really will come down to every last vote. Can she muster enough support to win the Mirror Ball?
Teaming with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on a Samba to kick off the night, Erin scored a 29. Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya got a 28 on the Viennese Waltz.
Nicole and Derek Hough’s Rumba netted a 28. In the freestyle round, Nicole made up one point on Erin, tying for the overall lead. Evan faltered somewhat.
Erin Andrews mauls Maksim Chmerkovskiy in bed. Art imitating life?
If Scherzinger still has a slight edge, it’s because she and Derek went for the toughest moves, almost resulting in Nicole falling off his shoulders at one point.
Erin and Maks, meanwhile, chose to do a lyrical freestyle, which seemed So You Think You Can Dance-esque with props and unadulterated sexual chemistry.
So can Erin actually pull off the upset on tonight’s results show - when Kate Gosselin returns, Vienna Girardi debuts and the season winner is unveiled at last?
She earned consideration at the very least. Nicole will likely get the title and it will be well-earned, but she won’t run away with it. Last night’s full scorecard:
- Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Samba: 29. Freestyle: 26. Total: 55.
- Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough: Rumba: 28. Freestyle: 27. Total: 55.
- Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya: Waltz: 28. Freestyle: 24. Total: 52.

Dancing with the Stars: The Finals Preview
Dancing with the Stars names its 10th champions tomorrow. Who will win it? Only three tandems are left vying for the Mirror Ball when they take the floor tonight.
It’s now or never for Erin, Maks, Nicole, Derek, Evan and Anna. There are no cumulative scores, so any faltering tonight could be devastating, even to the favorite.
Below, we break down the dancers left standing on the final night of competition, their strengths and weaknesses, and their odds of bringing home the glory …
Erin Andrews & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Why they’ll win: Sex appeal. Chemistry. Being a hoot to watch. Unquestionably the most attractive and fun pair all season long, Erin and Maks have earned their place in the finals with performances that are technically rigorous as well.
Why they won’t: This isn’t to suggest the judges have it in for Erin, but they sort of do. Off-the-charts heat doesn’t translate to higher scores - rarely they matched Nicole or Evan’s totals. If they did tonight, it would be a surprise. A hot surprise.
Odds: 20-1
Can either Erin or Evan pull a huge upset in this week’s finals?
Evan Lysacek & Anna Trebunskaya
Why they’ll win: Evan and Anna served notice with last week’s dances that this far from over. Nicole may be the favorite, but Evan has as many perfect 30s (two) as she does, and if they end up all square at the end of tonight, he may have a shot.
Why they won’t: Nicole is still better … which is a little unfair, given that she dances for a living, but such is life. Evan needs to be nearly flawless and get some help.
Odds: 5-1
Nicole Scherzinger & Derek Hough
Why they’ll win: Woman’s got skills. Those new Pussycat Dolls have big shoes to fill. Popular and proficient, Nicole has the whole package and should get it done. And partnering with Derek Hough should help with the female audience, as well.
Why they won’t: Her fan base could assume she has it wrapped up and not vote. It’s all about turnout as much as talent. Or she has a rare off night, which we doubt.
Odds: 3-2
Make no mistake, this title is Nicole’s to lose.

Kate Gosselin Battles Post-Dancing Depression
Kate Gosselin is moving on, but she still misses Dancing with the Stars.
“It was just about two weeks before I was like, ‘Hey, I’m resettled back into life. I feel like a normal mom again,’” Kate said, while also admitting she went through “major withdrawals” after leaving the show. “It’s really difficult.”
“There is a post-DWTS depression that they fail to tell you about.”
The hard-working mom says the feelings stem from missing her castmates, whom she refers to as “family.” Not sure if the feeling is mutual, but hey.
If nothing else, you can’t accuse Kate of laziness. In the weeks since she was booted from Dancing with the Stars, the mother of eight has launched her new reality series, Twist of Kate and Kate Plus 8 reloaded, and has a new gig with ET.
Kate Gosselin will return to the Dancing stage for this week’s finale.
Her new role? A correspondent for Dancing with the Stars, natch.
“[It] has been extremely exciting to hold a microphone, and I found that I am loving this side of it,” Kate said backstage at the Dancing with the Stars semifinals, where she was conducting on-camera interviews. “I can talk. We all knew that.”
Indeed. Adding “correspondent” to her resumé, which already includes reality-TV star, author, promotional speaker and … oh, right, mom to Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, is all part of Kate’s plan keep focused.
Or scattered, however you want to look at it. She says she needs parenting help, and we’re starting to realize why. She has about as many jobs as she has kids.
Eight more than Jon Gosselin in the former department, so that counts for something, but still. You gotta chill out, Kate. Settle down. Stop and smell the roses.
Vienna Girardi to Go Dancing with the Stars, Nauseate Fans on Season Finale
We don’t know what’s more surprising, that Dancing with the Stars would actually have one of its contestants’ fiancees come on the show, or that Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi are actually still together months after The Bachelor ended.
Vienna and Jake haven’t had much time to celebrate their engagement, as he joined the Dancing with the Stars cast about 10 minutes after The Bachelor finale.
But at least Tuesday night, Vienna Girardi will get in on the ratings action reunite with her man again, according to Chelsie Hightower, Jake’s partner this season.
“We had our second rehearsal today and surprisingly, Vienna isn’t nervous at all,” says Hightower. “If it were me, I think I’d be vomiting all night, not sleeping.”
“But Vienna is doing really well and she’s so excited.”

Like all of the other season 10 couples, she and Pavelka will take to the floor together and perform one last dance - theirs is the Viennese Waltz - at the finale.
Girardi and Dmitry Chaplin will join them on the floor, “then Dmitry and I will hand Jake and Vienna over to each other,” Hightower says. Someone kill us now.
“It’s a slow, romantic waltz - a simulation of a pre-wedding dance.”
The future Mr. and Mrs. Jake Pavelka have not made any formal wedding arrangements, but do plan to set up residence in L.A. when DWTS ends next week.
“She’s a great girl,” Chelsea says of Vienna, who was said to be completely devastated by Jake’s elimination a few weeks ago. “They are very happy together.”
Will Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi last?
Kate Gosselin to Fly High on Dancing with the Stars
Eliminated a few weeks ago, Kate Gosselin discusses her impending return to Dancing with the Stars for the finale, and what it will entail. Here’s a hint - flying.
Yep, we’ll see Kate soar, if only literally. The famous mom told Entertainment Tonight that her last dance number will “involve flying” on the season-ender.
“I am dancing a strange combination of two songs,” the celebrity news show correspondent said. “An old dance, a new dance, and it involves flying.”
Should Gosselin fall in her death-defying stunt, Jon Gosselin will try his best not to laugh pro dancer Anna Trebunskaya offered to look after her eight children.
Hey, woman said she needs parenting help as it is …
Kate typically dances very low … to the ground, and in terms of scoring.
“We can split them all between the cast and they’re going to visit each other every two days,” Anna joked of the little soon to be reloaded Kate Plus 8 starlets.
Last month, a source said Kate has been “moping” since leaving the show: “Kate misses the media coverage,” the source said. “She got used to the publicity.”
But now Gosselin’s back in the limelight, at least for the short term, as Entertainment Tonight’s special correspondent for DWTS, Monday through Wednesday.
Enjoy it while it lasts, Kate. Enjoy it while it lasts.
