Tiffany Comes to Defense of Miley Cyrus, Says Singer is Acting “Appropriately”
What inappropriate, desperate, pathetic image?!?
According to former pop star Tiffany, Miley Cyrus is doing nothing wrong in her attempt to reshape her image and find a more mature audience.
“Miley Cyrus is on a great track,” the singer told Us Weekly over the weekend. “I know that there are a lot of people that say ‘well, when you are so young you shouldn’t be sexy.’ [But] I think that in today’s world you kind of have to be [sexy] to be competitive in the market.
“I think that she is doing it appropriately. And it’s always a fine line there.”
Tiffany, who posed for Playboy in 2002, concluded:
“I’m a huge fan of hers. I think she’s gonna have a long career. Her parents are guiding her right, and it really matters what base you have around you. Very much so.”
It’s safe to say Taylor Momsen doesn’t agree with Tiffany. Do you?

Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen may pretend as if they’re especially mature 16 and 17-year olds, but at the end of the day, it’s clear: they’re just like any two feuding teenage girls.
It all started a couple weeks ago, when the Gossip Girl actress and The Pretty Reckless frontwoman implied that Miley was part of “Disney bubblegum shit” taking over the airwaves and said she was sick of comparisons between the pair.
In response to those comments, a source tells Heat magazine “Miley is furious.” He added:
“She thought Taylor was pretty cool until this happened, which has left her totally confused. Taylor is so obviously desperate for fame. I mean, she’s traipsing around town in her underwear, or is that for the love of the music too?”
Wait… did someone close to Miley Cyrus just accuse another artist of dressing scantily in order to make headlines? Excuse us while we laugh hysterically over such hypocrisy….
Perhaps Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen should both put clothes on and shut up.
This insider believes “Miley has always had a lot of talent, and Taylor knows it. Taylor still sees her as a threat, which she is, although they’re hardly in the same league.”
It’s difficult to take a side in this battle of underdressed, oversexed, self-centered singers. But Miley has spoken out often over the last year, expressing her disdain for musicals, vampires and other pop culture favorites. Her defenders always say to leave the girl alone, she’s allowed to speak her mind.

Last month, Miley Cyrus made one of the most confusing, ridiculous comments on record, saying there’s a double standard at work between the negative reaction she receives on stage and the praise heaped upon Zac Efron in movies.
However, Miley also showed love for the former High School Musical star, telling Billy Bush:
“Zac has a special place in my heart. If it wasn’t creepy and he wasn’t my friend, I would have posters of him on my wall.”
After being shown this interview, Efron had the following to say to Access Hollywood about Cyrus: “I’ve known her since she was a little girl. It’s amazing what she’s done. She’s blossomed into this beautiful lady and taking the world by storm. I’m so proud of her.”
In other words: Zac is the anti-THG when it comes to Miley Cyrus.
As he tours the country in promotion of Charlie St. Cloud, meanwhile, Efron stopped by the Mall of America in Minnesota yesterday.

The actress will co-star with Demi Moore in a dramatic movie that finds her struggling with relationships and with the divorce of her parents. Those that tune in each week to watch Miley on The Disney Channel might wanna stay away, she recently warned in an interview.
“The next film I’m doing is not for the [Hannah Montana] audience,” she said. “But that is why I did the last season, for my young fans… I have to choose scripts that are right for someone who is 18 because that is me.
“It’s very different going from a show with a huge audience and fan base to something… independent. But I’m excited to work on a film that is going to touch people. It’s edgy and different and I don’t know how the fans will react, but it’s something I can relate to.”

Taylor Momsen on Miley Cyrus Comparisons: Shut the Eff Up!
Miley Cyrus may be a colossal disappointment for a variety of reasons, but at least she doesn’t curse, smoke or look like a raccoon at all times.
The same can’t be said for Gossip Girl cast member Taylor Momsen.
Speaking to FHM UK this week, the 16-year old lashed out at critics that compare her to Miley, making it very clear that she doesn’t see any similarities between the pair.
“I’m not looking to be Miley f*cking Cyrus,” Momsen said. “I don’t care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we’ll go along for the ride.”
Momsen and Cyrus may both act and sing, but that’s pretty much where the comparisons end. The former fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless, while the latter is nothing more than a Britney Spears wannabe at this point.
Still, Taylor feels a need to distance herself from Miley, adding: “I think the Disney bubblegum shit that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression.”
It’s unclear what that actually means, but Gossip Girl fans have made their opinion of Momsen and her character well-known: Jenny Humphrey has been written out of most of next season on the show.
Good riddance.

Ready to enter an alternate universe?
Given the extreme makeover Miley Cyrus has undergone over the past couple months, it’s jarring to remember that she still plays Hannah Montana on television.
In fact, that show will air the first episode of its final season tomorrow night. It finds the Stewarts moving into a new ranch home and we’ve posted a sneak peek at the premiere below.
Miley is front and center, but there are no same-sex kisses, no gyrating of the crotch and no torn-up, low-cut, ridiculous outfits to be seen…
Cyrus has gone out of her way to say she wants to shed this innocent image, but she really might wanna think twice about that.
After all, her new album sales have been abysmal. She may have to accept the fact that most fans want to see her as looks here, not as some Britney Spears wannabe:
Album Sales Plummet for Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has been tamed again.
After an incredibly disappointing opening week of sales for “Can’t Be Tamed,” fans of this young singer said to wait. It’s just been a few days, they cried! Give the album time!
A week later, though, the compilation is barely holding a place in the Billboard 200’s top 10. With Eminem’s “Recovery” still holding strong at number-one (with 313,000 copies sold), Miley’s CD fell six places to number-nine, selling just 32,000 copies.
That’s an astounding 68% drop-off from last week.
By comparison, Miley’s 2008 “Breakout” sold 1.5 million copies and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. There’s very little chance “Can’t Be Tamed” will achieve half that level of success.
Does this mean Miley has lost a significant amount of her fan base? There’s no other way to see it. Numbers speak for themselves.
Perhaps she should go to college, after all. They have marketing classes there.
Kellie Martin to Miley Cyrus: Go to College!
For weeks, THG has been offering Miley Cyrus advice: put on pants, cut out the desperate antics, focus on country music - and shut up.
But what do we know about it? We’re simply a (very attractive) celebrity gossip blog. We can’t relate to the life of a teenage celebrity.
Kellie Martin can, however. The actress rose to fame on the sitcom Life Goes On and has remained grounded, most recently recurring on ER as the character of Lucy Knight and guest-starring on episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
Asked by Fancast.com if she had any advice for Miley, Martin replied:
“Go to college. I really think that saved me. Fred [Savage] went to Stanford, Mayim [Bialik] went to UCLA, I went to Yale… It’s really, really important to get an education because when all of this is gone, then at least you have your education.”
Martin appears to be a fan of Miley’s, adding: “She’s wildly talented, little Miley Cyrus, and she has a sweet family. If she went to college, she’d be totally set. She’d be set forever.”
It’s true that none of the childhood stars cited above have been arrested, gone bankrupt or had compromising photos of themselves released online.
Wouldn’t it be great if Cyrus followed the advice? It’s just a shame no one offered it to Lindsay Lohan.
